A Stronger Foundation for Drawing the Head
為頭部素描建立更扎實的基礎
When a portrait feels flat or its features seem disconnected, the difficulty often begins with the underlying structure. Studying the skull helps you understand how the brow, eye sockets, cheekbones, and jaw relate to one another—and how those relationships change as the head turns.
In this course, Yim begins with the whole: large shapes, straight-line construction, and proportion. He then develops the planes, shadows, and selected details, showing how each decision supports the drawing’s overall form.
當肖像缺乏立體感，或五官看起來各自獨立時，問題往往源於對整體結構的掌握不足。透過頭骨素描，你能更清楚地理解眉弓、眼窩、顴骨與下頜之間的關係，以及這些關係如何隨著頭部轉向而改變。

第一課｜頭骨右側素描
Begin with straight-line construction and learn how the eye socket, cheekbone, and jaw fit within the larger structure. Develop volume through clear planes and connected shadow shapes.
從直線起稿開始，理解眼窩、顴骨與下頜如何融入整體架構，再透過清楚的塊面與連貫的暗部，建立立體感。
第二課｜頭骨正面素描
Use the centerline and paired landmarks to study proportion and balance. Learn to simplify the teeth and organize tonal relationships without losing the unity of the drawing.
運用中線與兩側對應的位置，學習比例與平衡。練習概括牙齒、整理明暗關係，同時維持畫面的整體性。
第三課｜頭骨左側素描
Apply the same principles from the opposite angle. Reassess perspective, overlapping forms, and nearer and farther relationships, then refine tones and edges.
將相同原則運用於另一個角度，重新判斷透視、形體遮擋與前後關係，再逐步調整明暗與邊緣虛實。
